Adapating endpoint security to mobilized consumerization of corporate IT
Personal digital assistants and smartphones are here to stay, and new mobile applications are emerging to entice even more enterprise users to rely on the devices. The trend poses a major threat to data security and can undermine an otherwise solid data leakage prevention strategy. With their mobile devices, users can import/export data via wireless network applications, removable memory cards, and local "docked" connections. The last two channels are typically left open and unaudited. When a user syncs up a device with an office PC, protected data can be easily sucked away. This paper explores the mix of network and endpoint security measures needed to meet the challenge.
